1999 - BT researchers Martin Russ and Mark Bagley propose 'on-the-fly' media generation as the 'future of multimedia'
2000 - First demonstrations of live assembly of 'flocked' networked software objects to produce multimedia
2001 - Simplified proposals for live multimedia generation based on video fragments renamed as 'Smart Realisation'
2002 - Smart Realisation' project team' led by Martin Russ, release first prototype software tools and delivery servers
2003 - NM2 EU project takes Smart Realisation and applies principles to real world media projects
2004 - First proposals to turn the technology into a spin-out company from BT
2006 - BT Development team join spin-out company in incubation. Naj Kidwai CEO, Ian Cameron CTO
2007 - Adaptive movie trailer for UK independent film 'Sugarhouse' is first public trial of RTC's technology
2007 - Real Time Content spins out of BT as separate limited company
2008 - Real Time Content produces series of highly successful and award-winning interactive adverts for Nationwide
2008 - Real Time Content launches in the US, introducing the adaptive video solution to the US market
2009 - Real Time Content wins award in 2009 Global Telecoms Business innovation awards
2009 - Real Time Content chosen for Guardian Media Tech Invest Top 100 Companies
